Private midwifery care At Maternology we offer private and individualised midwifery care, to suit every pregnant woman's needs. Evidence shows that full 'Continuity of Care' in pregnancy, greatly improves all outcomes for women and their babies. With an overstretched NHS service, often many women feel that they do not receive the level of care and attention that they would wish for, during their pregnancy and in the postnatal period.


As an experienced Community Midwife, I understand the need for protected time to talk through your worries, concerns and expectations in pregnancy. Sadly, NHS midwives are constrained to appointment slots of only fifteen minutes to half an hour and this does not allow sufficient time to fully discuss your needs and answer the questions that you will most likely have. This is why we believe that appointments should last as long as is required. They will never be rushed and you will always get the chance to discuss any issues that you might have in full.

Pregnancy massage Materology offers individualised massage therapies by me, a qualified Midwife, that will compliment your normal care in pregnancy and beyond. This will help you prepare for your baby's arrival and help you adapt to motherhood. I provide aroma-therapies tailored to your specific needs. I will always take a full obstetric and medical history to ensure that you have the safest and most appropriate treatment. All massage therapies are carried out on my luxury state of the art Hydrotherm system.

Baby massage classes and baby yoga classes During baby massage sessions you will learn step by step how to give your baby a full body massage. You will be given a bottle of first cold pressed and organic sunflower oil for you to use during your session and to practice at home. All classes will take place in a friendly environment giving you the chance to socialise with your peers. These sessions will not only help with many common ailments that your baby might have but it also helps with bonding and confidence building as a new mother.

In the sessions you will learn a sequence of stretches, poses and moves that will enhance babies physiological and psychological development. As well as learning all of the moves, you will discover how to communicate with your baby through their body language. Refreshments provided.

I am a fully qualified midwife and will be happy to discuss any concerns you might have, whilst refreshments are offered at the end of each session. A certificate will be provided at the end of the block of sessions.
